These came from the estate of a Red Cross Hostess who served on Saipan.

Life Saving Leaflet

1. The American Forces will aid all who follow the instructions given in this leaflet.

2. Good treatment - food, clothing, tobacco, medical treatment, etc.,will be accorder in comformity with International Law.

How to Use this Leaflet

1. Come slowly toward the American line with your hands raised high above your head, and carry only this leaflet.

2. Come one by one. Do not come in groups.

3. Men must wear only pants or loin cloths. Sufficient clothing will be provided. Wimen and children may come dressed as they are.

4. Do not approach American lines at night.

5. This note may be used by amyone - Japanese, Korean, Soldier, Civilians, etc.

6. Those who do not have leaflets may advance to the American line if they follow instructions as if they had a leaflet.

What good is money in the bank or in bonds? Buy articles you need now and buy articles for future use. The remaining supply is low. As a result of the bombing by America, many of your stores will close their doors while others will be open only for limited periods. Buy food, clothing, and other necessities to tie you over these periods.

Money will not satisfy your hunger or clothe you. Bonds will not satisfy a baby's cry. A wise person would buy now, not save his money. The present is not a time for money. It is a period for goods.
