WW2 German Arbeitsbuch - Typesetter for Official NSADP Newspaper
This is a nice example of a WW2 German Arbeitsbuch issued to Sigmund Lohmar, a Schriftsetzer (Typesetter) for the Westdeutscher Beobachter G.m.b.h. Gauverlag der N.S.A.D.AP. Koln-Deuts (West German Observer - Regional Publication of the Nazi Party - Cologne-Deutz).
Includes a nice post-war (November, 1945) letter typed on a wartime letterhead with Eagle and Swastika and "N.S.D.A.P." redacted. In response to Sigmund's written request, the newspaper mails him this Arbeitsbuch, along with his DAF Mitgliedsbuch and personal papers)
The Arbeitsbuch was a mandatory official personal document recording the employment status of an individual over time. It became essential in wartime and had to be constantly produced for police, who were on the lookout for vagrants, shirkers, deserters and spies.
Some redundant pages or ones with no data entries are not pictured.
