WW2 German Signals "Nachrichtentasche" Leather Tool Pouch
$150.00
This is a "Nachrichtentasche" as used by Signal Corps/Pioneers. It originally held a report pad, pencils, tape, splicing knife, paper labels and a universal tool. There is a divider inside and provision to store a couple of pencils.
Pouch measures 8” x 9” x 2.75” and is well-marked with a manufacturer code/date “bmn 42” and Waffenampt "WaA98". Original strap is proofed “cxb 42” with a Waffenamt stamp “WaA727” for “Moll Lederwarenfabrik, Goch, Rheinland”.
There is a nice period “Augsburg” city crest applied on the front (Augsburg was a key Bavarian city captured the day before the same 3rd Infantry troops entered Munich). Pouch also has an allied Soldier’s name “CW McP[herson]” on the back of the pouch.
