Vermont State Militia - Indian Wars Era Epaulets s/a Civil War

$120.00

This is a beautiful matching set of Epaulets for a Soldier in the Vermont State Militia. Very well-made with hand-stitching, etc. These are identical to their Civil War counterparts, with the exception of the small brass button with the Vermont State Seal (only one button present). According to "Uniform Buttons of the United States 1776-1865" (Page 483) this small sized Kepi Button (this button also has the Kepi-style prongs on the back) came into use directly after the Civil War.

Last photo was gleaned from an Internet discussion, and depicts a soldier in the Vermont State Militia wearing identical Epaulets.
