IG Farben (IG Farbenindustrie AG Auschwitz) Logo Lighter is marked "KW" for Karl Wieden. This is from the famous IG Farben Factory, built next to and manned by Auschwitz Concentration Camp slave labor.

Last photo is from the Internet, and shows Himmler with SS and IG Farben entourage touring the factory grounds.

Almost certainly, Ellerhoof liberated it from a Waffen SS NCO or Officer who had served at Auschwitz and got the lighter gifted to him by the factory, then carried it in the field for a long time.

Note that one screw (circled) is a modern replacement. A suitable "Bolt and Barrel" needs to be salvaged from another KW Lighter.
