This unissued Luftwaffe cloth Hat Eagle is embroidered on black wool as opposed to the usual blue-gray. It was worn on the black wool Overseas Cap and Field Hat by members of the Herman Goering Division, as well as on the black cotton twill Overseas Cap worn by Luftwaffe Mechanics.
