SOLD -This is a nice, hard to find original WW1 German Patriotic Poster - "Der Hias - ein Feldgraues Spiel". Exposed portion of print is 17"x 24". The printer's marks in the margins read "ENTWURF: WALTER DITZ, MÜNCHEN" and "DRUCK: FRITZ MAISON, MÜNCHEN". The artwork itself is signed "W.DITZ 17" [Walter Ditz - Austrian painter and poster designer, graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich].

Poster is dry-mounted - you can see a few small wrinkles and such that indicate it is printed on the correct period thin paper. No signs whatsoever of any post-WW1 printing techniques employed. Printer's marks and overall size jibe with the example in the Imperial War Museum.

Ships in 24" x 35" frame, without the glass.
