This is a Kashira carved in the traditional polished black Water Buffalo Horn, which goes on the Tsuka (Handle) of a Japanese sword. Measurements are approx. 17 mm x 35 mm x 9 mm tall. The originals are often damaged or missing. If you are repairing an old Tsuka, or constructing a replacement, and insist on authenticity, then this is for you.
Made from 100% authentic water buffalo horn to the exact specifications of original examples. They were commissioned several years back by a collector/restorer who had them made by a skilled Asian craftsman who knew what he was doing.
